MISSION & OBJECTIVES

College of Forestry, Ponnampet is an A+ accredited institute by the Indian Council of Forest Research and Education, Dehradun for imparting quality education in Forestry Sciences in Karnataka.

College of Forestry, Ponnampet is on a mission mode to Conserve, renew and sustainably utilize forest resource through attaining excellence in education, research and extension in the field of Forestry thereby striving to attain a centre of excellence status in forestry discipline.

HISTORY & GENESIS

Forestry degree program was started in 1985 at UAS Bangalore campus under Department of Forestry. It was shifted to Ponnampet campus as College of Forestry, Ponnampet in the year 1995. The college offers Under graduate degree programme in B.F.Sc, Post graduate degree programme and Doctoral program in Forestry. There are around 1000+ alumnus who are working in diverse career fields (Forest Department, Academics, & Research organisations, Banks, Private sector companies and have chosen to be Entrepreneurs).
