NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION & CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
(20th to 22nd February 2025)
The conservation and management of biodiversity is crucial for achieving poverty reduction and sustainable development (Millennium Ecosystem Assessment 2005). India is biodiversity-rich nation that supports 18% of the world’s population with only 2.4% of the world’s total land area. Remarkably, it is a part of four global biodiversity hotspots that have high concentrations of endemic taxa and some of the biggest remaining wild populations of large, wide-ranging mammals.
